Public Transportation: Buses, Taxis, etc.

Hawaii does have Uber and Lyft - however these options can get expensive. They tend not to be as expensive as traditional taxi cabs. Hawaii is expensive - especially for tourists.

Getting to Waikiki Area (where the Hawaii Convention Center is) is easiest by taxi. However, there are many local shuttles that will take you to the Waikiki area for under $20 (each way). You can also rent a car, but for only an eight mile drive, it's not really worth it unless you plan on doing more driving around the island. Car parking will also carry an overnight charge, as well as a charge at the convention center.

Hawaii Travel Reminders

Hawaii is a US state, so visitors from the US do not need a passport or visa. Foreign visitors are required to have a valid passport and obtain a visa if they normally would when visiting the mainland of the US. We use the US dollar, just like any of the other 49 states.

Please note that since we are an island state with an ecosystem very vulnerable to invasive species, our Department of Agriculture forbids bringing in any live animals, fruits or vegetables, or soil/live materials in without inspection, and you'll be asked to declare or leave it in quarantine if you have anything with you. This should be easy for Magic players, but just in case, please leave your pet snake at home.
